I spent more time than planned in Collingwood. It turned out that I had ridden all the hills wit a flat trailer tire. Worse, my pump was broken so I needed a bicycle store.
Yesterday was a major challenge. Climbing hills with a trailer is always hard, but in the summer heat it is more daunting.
At some point one trailer tire lost air and I discovered my pump is broke. This morning I will stay in town until the stores open and I can replace the pump and fix the tire.
Always another hill ahead
Toward the end I had a lovely long downhill towards lake Huron.
I stopped for a little while in the beach town Grand Bend, which is right on Lake Huron with its beautiful beaches and reviews. I don't really understand people that like to spend all day on the beach regularly, but there's no shortage of them in this place.
There was little evidence that summer was winding down, but I'm sure a lot of these people had to be back at work or have their children in school tomorrow morning.
I visited a fascinating museum today in Oil Springs, where the first commercial oil company was established in North America. Remarkable since I do not live in an oil rich province.
Jumbo was a well known circus elephant in the 19th century who died in a train accident in St Thomas. Here is the monument to the elephant that gave us a new word for very big.

Delhi, Ontario
Apparently still the tobacco farming capital of Canada.
It must be a hard thing to brag about
I arrived in Port Dover just in time for watching the sunset over Lake Erie.
